Testimonials

Working with Bill I saw an immediate improvement after our first 5 lessons. We continued training and my game improved from scoring in the 100’s to now breaking 80’s on a consistent basis. This was directly a result of the lessons with Bill and the 1 on 1 training he provided.

With his direction and lessons I have now won my golf league and continue to improve every round I play.

We are the parents of two teenage boys who have been taking lessons from Bill Hogan for over a year. They love the game of golf now more than ever. While taking instruction from Bill the boys have progressed after every lesson. He challenges and helps the boys to set goals for every part of their game.

He is patient and kind while speaking to them in terms they understand. We have and would recommend Bill Hogan to anyone.

Bill was very thorough and patient in teaching me every aspect of the game, from club selection to stance and swing techniques.

The variety of drills he taught continue to prove beneficial for refining and correcting my swing. Having a supportive and knowledgeable instructor like Bill made a significant difference in learning and enjoying a sport like golf.

    Individual Lessons

Individual golf lessons offer personalized coaching tailored to a golfer’s specific needs and goals. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the fundamentals or an experienced player aiming to refine your technique, individual lessons provide focused attention from a golf professional.

During these sessions, instructors typically assess your current skill level, analyze your swing mechanics, and identify areas for improvement. They then work with you to develop a customized training plan to address weaknesses and enhance strengths.

Individual lessons allow for one-on-one interaction, where you can ask questions, receive immediate feedback, and practice under expert guidance.

This personalized approach helps accelerate learning and ensures that each lesson is targeted towards your unique development as a golfer.
Overall, individual golf lessons provide a structured and supportive environment for improving your game, whether you’re aiming to fix specific issues or elevate your overall performance on the course.

    Group Lessons

Group golf lessons are a fantastic way for golfers to learn and improve their skills in a social and supportive setting. Unlike individual lessons, which focus solely on one player, group lessons involve multiple participants learning together under the guidance of a golf professional.

These sessions typically cater to golfers of varying skill levels, from beginners to intermediate players. They provide an opportunity to learn fundamental techniques, refine existing skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow golf enthusiasts.
In group lessons, the instructor often structures the session to cover specific aspects of the game, such as putting, chipping, full swing, or course management. Participants receive individualized attention within the group context, with the instructor offering feedback, tips, and demonstrations that benefit everyone in attendance.

Group lessons also foster a supportive learning environment where participants can observe each other’s progress, share insights, and motivate one another. They are often more affordable than individual lessons and provide a social aspect that can enhance the overall enjoyment of learning and practicing golf.

Overall, group golf lessons are ideal for individuals who enjoy learning in a communal setting, want to benefit from shared experiences, and seek to improve their game alongside others with similar interests.

    Operation 36

Operation 36 program puts playing right at the heart of learning. This way, kids and adults don’t just learn how to swing; they learn to love the game by actually playing it.

Golf can seem complex, but breaking it down into manageable skills makes it easier to learn. Similar to school subjects, these skills are covered weekly, each with an educational goal to help golfers improve. These guides support and challenge golfers in their development. While they don’t guarantee shooting 36 for 9 holes, they provide support, guidance, and small successes along the way.

    The Operation 36 Curriculum:

    • Is designed to be a fun and motivating road map of educational goals
    • Is built to focus on the skills you will need to train based on your on-course division
    • Continues to build off of previous skills you have developed as you progress

    Mental Preparation

At HGA we focus on two key mental aspects of golf: Concentration and Managing Pressure.

    1. Concentration

    • Developing Focus
      • Routine Practice: Establish a consistent pre-shot routine
      • Mindfulness Techniques: Use meditation and mindfulness to stay present.
      • Visualization: Regularly visualize successful shots to enhance focus.
    • Handling Distractions
      • Identify Distractions: Recognize and manage common distractions
      • Refocus Techniques: Use deep breathing or return to your pre-shot routine to regain focus.
    • Setting Goals
      • Short-Term Goals: Set specific goals for each round or practice session.
      • Long-Term Goals: Have overarching goals for overall development.

    2. Managing Pressure

    • Understanding Pressure
      • Identify Triggers: Recognize situations that increase pressure.
      • Emotional Awareness: Understand how pressure affects your emotions and performance.
    • Strategies to Manage Pressure
      • Breathing Exercises: Use deep breathing to stay calm.
      • Positive Self-Talk: Replace negative thoughts with affirmations.
      • Focus on Process: Concentrate on executing each shot rather than the outcome.
    • Simulation and Practice
      • Simulate Pressure Situations: Practice under high-pressure conditions.
      • Experience and Exposure: Increase your comfort with pressure by practicing in simulated scenarios.
Consistent practice and application of these strategies will strengthen your mental game on the course.

    Stack System

The Stack System is a speed training system used by many touring professionals to increase their clubhead speed. It was designed by Dr. Sasha MacKenzie, a biomechanist who has worked with many players to increase their speed. The program runs through an app and uses its own radar to measure your clubhead speed as you progress through the training. Each player will complete a baseline workout, and the program will generate your program based on where you are currently.

Matt Fitzpatrick had this to say about TheStack:

“Sasho MacKenzie gave me TheStack… It’s like going to the gym basically, like a training program and I’ll be honest, it’s worked wonders.”
    – Matt Fitzpatrick after winning the 2022 US Open

You can incorporate TheStack within your lesson or do a free standing training program with Hogan Golf Academy.

For more information click on the video from Dr. Sasho MacKenzie.

    Trackman

Let me help you improve your game and achieve your goals while teaching you using Trackman video analysis, the system used by over 800 Tour professionals.

Trackman will help improve your swing by:

    • Allowing evaluation of each swing in real time
    • Provide swing analysis data such as carry distance, total distance, club speed, ball speed, attack angle, face angle, spin, and more.

Data from Trackman will help me personalize your golf instruction to better fit your needs and improve your swing.
